Using 2.2.7 if you start (presumably) any barbarian but specifically dwarven axemasters. your magic device modifier is 1.150, the barabirians clpass description clearly states "which makes magic devices fairly hard for them to use".
MassimilianoMarangio: They get -10 to the magic device ability, which is equivalent to the improvement of 3 skill levels. Perhaps they should also receive a smaller skill modifier.
NeilStevens: Barbarianism never did affect the multiplier and wasn't intended to. For a moment I thought this was related to the negative skill issues in the ToME 2.3 series, but I guess not. Marking resolved.
