MrConceit: You are able to wield any ammo you want by temporarily readying the type of shooter that corresponds to your best artifact ammo. Then you ready your best shooter (for stats or damage), and you are ready to rumble. This doesn't even screw up archers, because if you have the wrong type of ammo in your 'quiver', it just then defaults to ammo in your inventory. In fact, it's more useful because it won't ever be SHOT, thus it won't deprive you of whatever bonuses to stats/resistances/whatever the artifact ammo gives you. This also works with boomerangs, if a boomerang is your best plus to stats/resistances.
I'm pretty certain this is known by many people, as character dumps with it are on oook. That said, I didn't see it anywhere on here and I figured I'd report it. I don't really code, but it doesn't seem that difficult to impliment something where if you ready a new type of shooter the ammo in the quiver is automatically dumped into your inventory if it isn't the right type. Similar to if you change melee type to barehanded any weapon you had wielded is now in your inventory.
