Ideas
Here's some ideas I don't deem worthy of the idea archive. Read them if you will.
One: An ADOM vault!

A touch nasty?
2: New commands.
- Although it's quite pointless, I currently saw vomit as a command in a reasonably new roguelike, IVAN. If vomit had any real purpose, I'd see it as removing some poison and increasing your hunger.
Also, I'd like something like Animeband's 'issue challenge'. Basically just a shout that wakes up monsters, for when you want them to come to you. Perfect for trapping?
3: Water resistance.
- Please!
4: Potions Of Booze.
- Within 10000 turns, potions of booze...
1 - 2 drunk: Heal sanity.
3 - 6 drunk: Confuse.
7 - 10 drunk: Confuse and harm sanity.
11 - 20 drunk: Confuse, harm sanity and cause hallucinations.
21+ drunk: Confuse, harm sanity, cause hallucinations and have 5% of death, increasing by 1% with each drunk.
5: Random Quest Tweaks
- Yep, it's this again. My idea: Firstly, have all quests dodgable, that's both lost sword and princesses. The thing about the quests is, instead of an adventurer or princess, it's any of these six:
- Warrior
- Archer
- Rogue
- Mage
- Priest
- Loremaster The 6 main class types of course. What rewards they give you depends on their type. For example...
Warriors would give you weapons and armour if they're imprisoned, and give you melee skills if you get their weapon back.
Archers would give you bows and ammunition if they're imprisoned, and give you archery skills if you get their bow back.
Rogues would give you either light armour & swords or AU if they're imprisoned, and give you sneakiness skills if you get their AU back.
Mages would give you spellbooks and rings/amulets if they're imprisoned, and give you training in magic schools if you get their mage staff back.
Priests would give you either blessed weapons or a piety boost if they're imprisoned, and give you prayer if you get their prayerbook back.
Loremasters would summon powerful companions for you or give you good scrolls/potions if they're imprisoned, and give you monster-lore skills if you get their kidnapped companion back. Being able to skip all quests would allow characters to pick and choose to an extent what quests to complete.
Idea 6: Random Quest Tweaks II
- A smaller idea; when you get to the bottom of Angband you have one last lost sword quest and one last princess quest. For these quests, you can choose to kill the princess and get all three rewards (Heheheh), and also kill the adventurer for his sword. There's been conversations over what his sword would be like if it was an artifact. Here's my view on it: It should be a very powerful sword (Worth killing the guy for!) but at the beginning of every stage it's taken from your inventory and put somewhere on the level!
Also: Traps...
- What do the traps of masculinity, femininity and neutrality look like exactly...?(!)
Chatter...?
ErisDiscordia:I *thought* I remembered you from r.g.r.a.! I wonder if I really did instigate an enormous ADOM->ToME migration with a certain post of mine a while back, or if I'm giving myself more credit than I should
Sorry to hear you gave up on *winning* ADOM. Listen, if even *I* could win, I'm sure you can! Cheers!
BurbLulls: I AM planning on going back to ADOM for a bit. One reason I loved it was the spell system; you could learn spells and cast them without the books. I mean, do you picture Gandalf leafing through a fireflash spellbook mumbling, 'C'mon, c'mon...' I kinda lost hope when my best character, a Clvl47 High-Elven Wizard who ended up like a warrior mage was trashed by a certain Cat Lord...
PeterWiersig: More Grim, more Grim. One of the really funny DitLs around here.
RogerBarnett: Quick question, may I have your permission to include a copy of your ToME fanfiction "A Natural Oddity" in the roguelike fanworks archive at http://roguelike.calamarain.net ? You would of course be credited as the author and a link back to here would be provided.
