CSS/Discussion

Note: Let's keep CSS discussion here (in ThreadMode) and add a condensed version of this page (step-by-step instructions, lists of custom stylesheets, etc) to CSS (in DocumentMode).

ReenenLaurie: What is the CSS thing? I don't really have a URL, so I thought it better to leave it empty. Now I entered Canderel, so whats that gonno do?

KjellHeskestad: Download this file and modify the colors as you wish (right now I just changed the background color to test it). I tried referencing it from my local machine (file:///etc), but that didn't work, so I guess it needs to be on a web server. Perhaps someone is willing to make a few new themes or stylesheets for this wiki? I'll see if I'll create a few myself. (Btw, if this CSS discussion continues, I recommend moving it to a topic of its own.)

ReenenLaurie: Yes, I think CSS should get its own topic, and if possible it should be added to the general help on the user preference page, so you can know what it is then.

What do I do with the file once I have it? And is there not a way to have a 'default' CSS file then? For now (the test), I'll just like to be able to change it to your settings, and only then change it to whatever I like.

KjellHeskestad: If you look inside the CSS file, you'll notice it mentions color and background-color for a lot of HTML tags. You'll find the most common web colors here, so you can just substitute whatever color you like in the CSS file. Or if you don't have much experience with CSS stylesheets, you could outline what sort of colors you'd like this wiki to have, and I (or someone else) could make and upload a stylesheet with those colors. To use a custom stylesheet, just paste the http://path/to/stylesheet.css in User CSS URL in your UserPreferences.
