KhymChanur: In 2.x, objects can be placed or dropped on lava without taking any fire damage, which seems a bit strange (objects on the ground in Mt Doom are periodically subjected to fire damage from the dungeon, which is different from damage from the floor). So maybe in 3.x we can have the engine apply all the attacks a dungeon feature has to any objects when they're placed on the terrain, so that the instant an object falls onto lava it will be subjected to fire damage. Of course, this would make it so that most of a monster's drop would be instantly destroyed in dungeons with lots of lava, so this might not be such a good idea.

DarkGod: Well items dropped in a lava dungeon would get destroyed yes. But then the lava dungeon most probably has a fire aura anyway

KhymChanur: Mordor often has rivers of lava without having a dungeon fire aura. And the Dim Gates special level has a corridor of deep lava with lots of Great Hell Wyrms. They drop lots of stuff on the lava, but it never gets burned.

DarkGod: Mhh true, but it's rare, IMO we gain more than we lose with this change.
