ShrikeDeCil: The 'width' of wilderness squares is 3x the height - is there a fundamental problem with making the 'map squares' square? I can understand the whole 80x24 focus, I've played a lot of hours on essentially dumb terminals. L, M, targeting, the march of computers - the focus on 80x24 has decreased somewhat. But when you get to the overview map, the maps still feel really 'squished'. Converting a 'real' map -> ick.
