IngeborgNorden: Since this idea isn't limited to one module, I thought I'd discuss it here: why not Luafy the basic framework for displaying and triggering fates, then allow module-makers to add their own customized fate-lists which fit the theme they've chosen? The idea of prophecies affecting the character (for better or worse) works well in many settings, so it's a shame to abolish fates altogether.

KhymChanur: It's already been done. See game/engine/subsystems/fates.lua.

IngeborgNorden: Cool! I didn't know that; now, if only alpha14 were available for download to test that script! (The download section lists nothing later than alpha12 so far; was fates.lua already in there?)

KhymChanur: Oops, sorry, I should have been more specific. It's in the current CVS, which is the unreleased alpha14. You can take a look at it on the web here if you don't have CVS.
