how in the heck do you use the skillpoint spoiler? i do not know how to get it to run.

HarryErwin: I run it in X11. The main problem is that it fouls up priests.

ZizzoTheInfinite: You mean the tome-skiller script? Well, it's a Perl script, so you have to have Perl; I'm almost certain Perl is available for Windows, but I don't know off the top of my head where to get it. Then you can run it from the command line as, for instance, "perl tome-skiller.pl half-ogre barbarian swordmaster". The command keys are described at the top of the script.

And how does it foul up priests? Note that you'll probably have to quote the "priest" parameter, since it has parentheses in it; something like "perl tome-skiller.pl high-elf 'priest(manwe)'".

HarryErwin: That's exactly the issue. Thanks for the clue. Note I run on MacOS X, and the script uses a library (Curses) you have to install using fink and run in X11. Also, it looks for libraries in places that are no longer valid with 2.3.3. I run it in a 2.3.2 directory.

FedericoOdorizzi: Zizzo, could you please tell me where can I find the Curses library (windows)? It looks like I miss them, somehow.

ZizzoTheInfinite: Urk… Normally, the place to go would be the CPAN archive, but the Curses module contains C code that has to be compiled. CPAN's ports list lists several Windows ports of Perl, but I can't tell from their respective web pages what modules they include, or whether the modules can be obtained separately from the main Perl download. Actually, the most likely place to start looking would be the same place you got Perl for Windows from in the first place.

FedericoOdorizzi: Thanks, I'll have a look at it as soon as I have a bit of time. Btw, I got PERL for win from http://www.perl.com [Download -> Win32 Binaries]
