KhymChanur: Idea for a new class (and associated skill): ghost warrior. The ghost warrior can summon the souls of vanquished foes to fight at his/her side as a ghost. The ghost automatically appears when the player attacks or is attacked by a monster, and disappears either when there are no more hostile monsters adjacent to the player, or the player is magically moved more than a few squares away. After the player's first kill of a particular race, the ghost summoned from that race will be weak compared to how it was in life. As the player kills more of that race, s/he will have multiple souls of that race to call on at once, their overlapping presences adding up to more strength; if enough members of a race are killed, the ghost form might even be stronger than while it was alive. The strength of a particular race's ghost decreases a little every time it disappears, and decreases even more if it is "killed" in combat (plus a "killed" ghost enters a cool-down period during which it can't be summoned at all).
The player can't determine which race's ghost is to be summoned. S/he can only choose to have one ghost from the strongest race available, two ghosts from two different weaker races, or three ghosts from three different still yet weaker races.
DarkGod: It could make an interresting skill, but I dont see it as a class(but then again i'm not that fond of possessor/summonner/... as classes anyway). But wouldnt there be a problem with breeders? One could farm them to obtain the super-ghost-mice-of-ultimate-death no?
ShadUs: Logically, dead stuff doesn't have parts to breed with so... the class smells more like a warrior summoner who doesn't have to fiddle with mana to me.
KhymChanur: About farming breeders, there'd be an upper limit on how much stronger than normal an apparition could get; for mice it would be two to three times stronger, for powerful monsters it would be one and a half times stronger or less (so farming mice when you're level 1 could be a viable strategy, but it won't do any good when you get more powerful). And avoiding fiddling-with-mana wasn't my intent with thinking this up, but to make a summoner who'll never run out of friendly summons, but who can't stay safe while the summons do all the work for him/her. There could be a mana cost associated with it.
