ToME WikiBobbyJim: While experimenting with a Half-Dragon subrace, I noticed that the subracial and racial definition formats do not include a directive for adding racial powers. To be blunt, this sucks. What good is a half-dragon if it can't breath fire?
Sirrocco: You could make it a race-specific skill instead - like the Entish boulder-throwing. Just provide a skill bonus and a mod to go with it, and then don't provide this skill to any other race/class/whatevers.
BobbyJim: Okay, but I don't know how to make the required source code changes. Most of my modding experience is with the library files.
BobbyJim: A moment ago I tried adding the fire-breathing ability by using the same Z: directive from the other definitions, and it worked! Apparently, the racial/subracial definitions DO support the addition of abilities. They just aren't documented in p_info.txt. In fact, some of the other edit files lack documentation of the definition formats, or carry outdated information.
