KhymChanur: In ADOM, there's certain rooms that have an effect on the player and monsters, an effect on their actions, or an effect on the first time the player enters the room. I don't know how hard it would be to implement this for 3.0.0, but if it's not too hard it could be cool.
Ideas stolen from ADOM:
- Increases, or stops, the regeneration of mana and HP.
- Increases the rate that breedable monsters breed at.
- Increases the rates that critical hits and/or wounds take place.
- "Sticky floors", that decrease movement speed if you aren't levitating or flying.
More ideas:
- Increases/decreases spell power or the cost of spells.
- Fog filled room that decreases visibility, but makes corporeal invisibile monsters visibile because their form is outlined in the fog.
Glowing fog filled room that makes all invisible monsters visible.
- "Sunlit" rooms that can't be darkened, automatically damage light-vulnerable creatures every round, and weaken the power of darkness attacks.
- Permanently dark rooms, which light sources can't illuminate, and even Globe of Light will only light for a moment before it falls back into darkness. Automatically damages darkness vulnerable creatues every round, and weakens the power of light attacks.
- "Loud" rooms covered with brittle sticks or other noisy makers, which greatly decrease stealth.
- Lucky/unlucky rooms that modify your luck while you're in them.
Cornflake What about a room/open area that has, oh, cave ins?
