ToME WikiKhymChanur: This idea is for an effect (from a scroll, spell, amulet, whatever) which prevents summoned monsters from appearing right next to you. A radius 1 sphere of exlusion would mean that summoned monsters would appear at least 1 square away from you, so that if a group of spiders is summoned at you, you'd be in the middle of a 3x3 square of no-spiders. This would mean that the summoned monsters wouldn't be able to immediatly meele with you. And if the radius was large and you lured a summoner into a small room, then the summoned monsters would all appear out in the halways connecting to the room.
TheFury: So it would work similar to the Lay of Protection? Might need some balancing though, and one would hope that a breeder wasn't summoned...
NeilStevens: To prevent summoning, yes, use a Lay of Protection.
KhymChanur: It would be like a moveable Lay of Protection, but only in regards to summoning. Once summoned, monsters could move inside the sphere and attack you with no problem, and it would have no effect whatsoever on non-summoned monsters.
