RavenRed: Just in resopnse to your comment about lockpicks, my workaround for that would be to make the "Disarm" and "Pick locks" ability conditional on having the Bowslot item "Lockpicks" wielded. If you don't have lockpicks, then opening a locked door requires you to bash it down or use a spell. Very fine or magical lockpicks ("The Lockpicks of Bilbo the Burglar") could offer a bonus to the Disarming skill.
