MayLith: Now we're talking! I've never played a pure Symbiant before, but Loremasters a-plenty. Really nice social status, too -- a welcome surprise, as it means more starting gold. I've never played a Petty-dwarf before, so that should be interesting. Wha... Music?!?! Weird... (Not like I plan on using Music, but... weird....)

FeathinSilyar: You could try using different symbiants to kill Smeagol. Maybe a brown mold for a confusion attack, or a Death Sword for hitting hard.
MayLith: Good ideas, but a) I've only got one symbiant so far (and Smeagol keeps stealing my extra $$$), b) I'm not deep enough to find a Death Sword, even if I did have the extra scrolls of summon never-moving. :/ This is extremely humiliating....
But ah well, that's what a comp is for

Game log
I went east of Bree, knocked off a few newts/ants to get to CL2. Then I immediately took the Bree house quest. This very nearly proved my undoing, as this character was *woefully* unprepared for that! It took loads and loads of hit, run, and rest up to finally get it....and on a setting that basically left me with no AC whatsoever in order to let me hit hard enough to kill the Bandit. (There was very little, wand-wise, in the magic shop, and even less in the Black Market, if I could have successfully stolen it... didn't try.)
A bit difficult just now, but I have hopes for this character...
Barrow Downs 1 -- Princess quest for Smeagol, and I headed in at a far lower CL than I usually do. I've already blown all my shrooms of unhealth/disease, etc, thrown my flasks of oil... I just can't kill him, the wretch!!! Thank goodness I can at least see him. I think I'll have to level up a bit and get some $ for a decent wand.... details, details.... (char sheet not yet updated, but I'm moments away from CL7.)
CL8, and still pretty pathetic. While I can see Smeagol, I can't seem to kill him, and my few shrooms of Undeath/etc have already been burnt up. I usually start the Barrow Downs at a higher CL, which is probably why I'm having issues. I'd try stealing a good wand, but I'm already locked out of the Black Market and I don't dare get locked out of the Magic Shop as well.
YASD at CL10. I tried dipping into the Orc Caves. I figured if I was extremely careful, I might be able to get enough loot to sell off to let me afford a decent wand. It didn't work -- a Baby green dragon's poison breath got me.
