NerdanelVampire: This is a topic that should interest both people trying to convert monsters to 3.0 as well as people making new monsters for 3.0. It's far from obvious which spell levels a given monster should be able to cast. It is known that monsters should cast attack spells at a far lower level than the player, but I'm looking for a proper formula.
- Could we say that spell level = monster level/4, for example? Is this too simple and linear?
- Do player-castable attack spells and monster-only attack spells have the same level/damage ratio in the Grand Unified Spell System?
- All the breaths are level 50 in the ToME alpha. Does that result in the old behavior, or is that just because it hasn't been balanced yet?
- Should the levels of non-damaging spells like Teleport, Darkness, and Shriek be treated differently from damaging spells? Are there monster spells that should always be level 50? Which?
