An introduction to multiverses
Many people have idle thoughts about 'what-ifs'. What if I would have been the son of a rich nobleman, what if I were immortal ? What most do not know is that there are in fact universes where things have indeed evolved differently.
These 'other places' where things are different from the now, are called alternative universes. They are all alike but still different. The things that remain similar among these alternative universes are said to be 'packed'. The nature of packedness is discussed in a work of my esteemed collegue Lady Brunelle which is aptly titled 'Packedness'.
One multiverse is thus the collection of all alternative universes and it's source universe. There are at least a dozen different multiverses known containing completely different lifeforms and laws of nature. Searching and exploring these different multiverses is a dangerous act. It almost destroyed everything we know in this universe when Lady Llara in Derzoek wanted to find copies of herself in a wildly different, uncharted multiverse. Since then no one has tried to discover new multiverses.
