Description

A module for ToME that tries to get even closer to Tolkien roots. Not strictly canonical or chronologically accurate by any stretch of imagination; like ToME, it combines Ages and personalities and stories, and introduces some `ideas' - for example, what happened to the Ithryn Luin and Elenwe, who is Tom Bombadil, were Glorfindel of Gondolin and Glorfindel of Rivendell the same person, and other points of contention in canon.

Theme introduces a completely new and more dangerous wilderness map, over 200 new monsters (plus over 60 uniques), many new artifacts, objects, and ego items, new gods to worship, new character races, subraces, and subclasses, as well as changes to some existing races and classes.

MasterNightfall: In regards to Varda Elentari - I have a Swordmaster worshipping her, and I'm at a loss as to how to gain piety, aside from camping out in a lit area.

Is it at all possible for a non-mage to "Cast spells involving light"? Because I've tried using Staves of Globe of Fire, the activation on the Phial, and a Dazzle power, to no avail.

Can Thaumaturgists gain piety with her by using say, Beam - Light?

FuriousOne: That's something I've been frowning at quite a bit, actually. I'm not sure how to make Varda recognise "light" magic that doesn't involve the school/God spells, but I will definitely try to figure out how to make it happen. I would suggest using the piety-controlled Light of Valinor spell, but under the current scheme and depending on your race, you'd lose more piety than you gained that way.

ArthurReyes: Ok. I think I found a bug (or I've exposed a known ToME bug) If I enter the Orc Cave from the East Side of the Misty Mountains, and the climb up and out, or recall, I come out in the middle of the ocean directly west of the Paths of the Dead (The 7th Square west from the ocean's edge) (This has happened twice. Once using a recall scroll, the other by climbing up and out.) I do recall (vaguely) a ToME bug similar to this. I don't really want to put this in the bug report until I know for sure.

FuriousOne: Yeah, I had that happen when I first tested it, then I thought I fixed it, but it appears to be happening anyway. I'm not sure if I forgot to do something vital in wf_info or similar. It doesn't do that for Cirith Ungol (which is not a default "two-entrance" dungeon, like Moria). I'm looking into it.

ArthurReyes: Hey. Anyway to make Eagles favored by Manwe? (For piety purposes?)

FuriousOne: They aren't already? *facepalm* Will do, deffo.

NotRegistered: I noticed that ingame help about gods can be found under "classes"-help. Just in case if anyone needs it:D Great module btw.
