NerdanelVampire: Here is my unofficial and uncrowned winner of B.O.B. 0.1.1 who saw the bottom of the dungeon and killed the baddest monster there, the Badass Skeleton. This time I went with a fighter dual-wielding weapons. The game involved tons of grinding for equipment. In the early game I had a hard time keeping my money high enough, which led me to losing a stellar armor right after I had spent money for some minor consumables which I could have afforded had I gone to that forge first. In the late game the wealth piled on. I'm a cautious player who easily goes for grinding when that's encouraged. I think it probably shouldn't be encouraged that much.
That enchanted spear was a real find, as can be seen in the facts that I found it fairly late in the game and that it replaced a (+1, +1) enchanted silex spear. The only other enchanted weapon I found was a (+3, +5) one that I found later, but I didn't buy it, as I already had that hot mallet. I wasn't really sure how powerful the "hot" ego was as the strength of the fire damage wasn't clear from anywhere, but now I hear it wasn't really that valuable.
I used magic only a little to supplement my fighting and to kill troublesome critters. Fireball was my best way of dealing with creeping oozes early on, despite its high failure rate. I had been saving some skill points intending to invest them in some magic skill (life draining magic strike?) while being afraid of raising them too high, making my mana insufficient. In the end I had more than enough for my wimpy magic attacks, although right after I had increased my elemental control to 3, the resulting 10-mana fireball hurt, since I was able to fire only two of them at a time instead of four, which matters a lot at 50% failure rate. In the end I bumped into the Badass Skeleton with my new spear
I went through most of the game with a constitution of 6 (I had started with 5), which wasn't that many really. I ended up having more magic stats than I really wanted, but I wasn't able to lower them in favor of something else very efficiently. I drank one potion of powerlessness and one of constitution during the entire game. I also drank a strength potion in order to make a weapon wieldable, but it turned out the new strength still wasn't enough.
I beat the Badass Skeleton by hitting him in melee with the equipment below and magic strike set to cold. I had to drink a couple of minor healing potions before I

EtMarc: Nice. To check the effect of the hot ego, you could have inspected the item. It add 1-4 fire damage to the weapon. The early grinding will be reduced in the next (0.1.2) version, since I added a new forge stocking only low level non-ego items (with a large selection).
NerdanelVampire: For some reason I didn't think of inspecting before you mentioned. Sometimes I can be so blind...
EtMarc: About the stone shield : I added the needed strength to wield something in the description (15 in the case of the stone shield). But the stone shield is mostly a bad joke, since it is worse than many weapon in defensive potential and quite pathetic (for its weight) in attacking.
