Introduction
- Finally, a character who got past Mirkwood! I seem to fare a lot worse with the changes in 2.3.0, so i tried to play a vampire to get that extra hit points and resistances. Let's hope it can get somewhere...
- And Mordor is gone! Either the vampire subrace helped or the RNG is lurking somewhere waiting for me with some nasty surprise...
- The vile Necromancer fled before Iby as she blasted him with pure light... and few time later Ar-Pharazon dropped the One Thing. Off to destroy it, now (of course Iby *id*ed it and has got that itch at her fingers... better hurry)
- Sigh! The Thing is gone into the fires, but good news is... Sauron had rushed to Mount Doom to stop Iby and got shredded instead. Now on to the hunt of the Big One (and best not leave many Wraiths around too).
And it is done! Despite the awkward situation of their encounter (see below) The Dark Lord was beaten and fled before the rage of the elements (pure light, in fact...). And since i didn't change my mind about the void, Ibeanna retired and... died of ripe old age?!? - a vampire? Probably some of the elves were not really happy about her as queen. I can smell betrayal. Oh well, at least i hope the elves enjoyed her reign while it lasted!
Interesting happenings
Found a vault on Mirkwood 32: *Tough* monsters inside (among them a Black Reaver! Area effect spells are really wonderful
). As a meager prize, found 16 artifacts inside
- plus a number of junkarts, unfortunately none useful. - A potion of new life. Never quite got the hangs of them. Someone could please explain exactly what they do (and if it's worth using them)?
- Aaaargghhh! At the end of the Path of Dead she ended up in small level (1x2) with Feagwath, Tselakus and Ji Indur Dawndeath. Good thing that she is enough stealthy to not wake them all at once.
Oooohhhh... a cloak of air - never seen one before. Stashed it in her house, but, even assuming she can take down Morgoth, i doubt i would risk the perils of the void with my first winner, maybe next time (if i don't change my mind before
) Urgh! Another distraction nearly costed her life. As i enter Angband99 i find myself right next to a greater undead lair. few turns later black reavers and night-things carved their way through the walls and i'm wounded and surrounded, so i quickly teleport away... and forget to detect traps! - sure thing, few steps later, i trip in a trapdoor (and there were 2 vaults on 99
). As i drop on Angband100, i wizard light and here's Morgoth coming for me, just half-screen away. I just had the time to raise defenses!
