Skills

Relating to the Udun skill, what I'll do is worship Melkor to get it and then destroy the ring. THis makes Melkor abandon me, but I don't lose the Udun skill. Store a couple of great wyrm corpses in your home in Lothlorien, destroy the ring, pick up Eru, grab them and wait as your below-negative-500 speed and high wis makes your piety skyrocket, thus boosting your mana and giving you a decent chance at resurrection. Just make sure to eat food every so often. :P

((50 in nature) + (0.4 in Udun)) / 2 = 25.2 average, which gives me genocide. Spellpower boosts this to Mass Genocide. woo.

And I'll take whatever magic-device and spirituality grants fumblefingers gives me, but not to the exclusion of the above, of course.

Yes, I am depending on FF to give me a decent number of grants. Sue me.

(That was the original skill plan in 2.2.7. Now I'm hoping that 2.3.1's extra skill points will allow me to get Lay of Protection too... Yes, I'm trying to run a god here. >_>)

• Weapn 1:	The Mage Staff of Eternity (+12 spellpower) (240% to mana)
  Weapn 2:	a Mage Staff of Wizardry enchanted with multiple Scrolls of Craftsmanship.
  Shooter:	The Light Crossbow 'Cubragol' (+10 speed)
  Ring 1:	The Ring of Phasing (+15 speed). AFAIK, the only item in the game that provides immunity to nether.
  Ring 2:	Decent (+10 at least) Ring of Speed-based randart stolen from a speed ring shop that covers leftover resistances.
  Amulet:	The Blue Stone 'Toris Mejistos' (40% to mana)
  Light:	The Arkenstone of Thrain (+3 to speed)
  Armor:	Randart that gives 40% or 60% extra HP. Multiple immunities required too. :P
  Cloak:	Randart spider web that covers leftover immunities the armor doesn't. Or Luthien. Or an extremely nice cloak of the magi.
  Shield 1:	The Small Metal Shield of Thorin [3,25]. Acid immunity.
  Shield 2:	Nice randart shield that covers leftover immunities/resistances/reflection.
  Head:	The Metal Cap of Celebrimbor [3,18] (+3 to spellpower). Or Lebohaum, if my armor class is less than 100.
  Hand 1:	The Set of Gauntlets of Eol [3,+15] (60% to mana). Extra mana owns. >_>
  Hand 2:	The Set of Cesti of Fingolfin [5,20] or an *extremely* nice randart.
  Feet:	The Pair of Hard Leather Boots of Feanor [3,+20] (+15 to speed). Extra speed is good.
  Digger:	Nice randart that gives speed and adds to my stats. Failing that, the Mattock of Nain.

Note that I get an extra weapon, shield, and glove slot from arms mimicry.

SirMaur: Aye, this is the character my level 28 sorceror is aspiring to become. Wish him luck... he'll need it, with his HP like 10x lower than what I'm used to. >_>

GregSweetman: If you don't mind my asking, what is your tactic for the game? I play mage types so rarely and I'm never any good with them

SirMaur: Right now? Spamming noxious clouds kills most, manathrust/tidal wave (which I try not to use much - it wipes out noxious clouds) kills what doesn't die in 2 turns from noxious cloud's unbreath damage. Also, I took my first excellent princess quest item and t-lorded down to orc cave 21 asap for cammithrim on the money I got from selling it - I had light resistance early, which helps a lot when you're running a vampire. Getting a spellbook of noxious cloud asap is the best thing I can tell you to do. That, and don't hold down the movement keys and/or 5. Also, attempt to steal potions of constitution if you can't buy them. 11 starting CON makes for absurdley low HP even w/o the sorcery HP cut.

NTB: Try using a shield of reflection as the second shield, it is worth much more than Gothmong for a sorceror

SirMaur: I understand that gothmog isn't optimal. I just couldn't think of another artifact shield off the top of my head. Yeah, I shouldn't have put gothmog there though... updated.
