ToME WikiIt appears like the Phial of Galadriel at first - but wait! It is a cursed phial created by an evil wizard to lure adventurers into wielding it unknowingly.
The Phial of Undeath is as rare as the Phial of Galadriel. If you find a phial, make sure to identify so you don't end up with undeadly lighting your way up. The Phial of Undeath is a cursed Artifact and it will greatly disappoint you if you find it before the real phial.
It provides light (radius 5) forever!
It decreases all stats & luck with 5.
- It allows you to breathe without air.
- It gives you Undead ESP.
- It is cursed.
It carries an ancient morgothian curse! (See Spoilers/Curses)
- It can be activated for ruination every 10+d10 turns if it is being worn.

JaekTheBarbarian: This is a spoiler, I suppose, but it is the spoiler section, after all. Since there are only two phials in the game, you can immediately figure out which one you're dealing with by attempting to destroy it. (I assume this works if you have a weak pseudo-id, since it did for me). This phial will pseudo-id as Terrible and Galadriel's will pseudo-id as Special. ( Saved my lost soul's life. :-D )
