Paladins, unlike other priests, get barehand, and at a great modifier. This makes a powerful combination with mindcraft and prayer. Mindcraft will cover all utility spells, although pulverise does not do high damage and mindwave can be dangerous against greater undead and demons. Use project blows to kill strong enemies from a distance.
tulkas gives you earth skill, get stone prison and you can choose your battles.
equipment: I usually focused on (+,+) armor items. Rings of Power, Damage, Accuracy, Slaying, Elessar, Fingolfin or Cambeleg. Gorlim's helm is dangerous, the (+5,+5) boots are heavy. Remember Mindcraft gives AC boost/double resist with the 4 basics covered you will have enough health to not have to worry much about high resists. kill trone as soon as possible as his coat covers most of the things that are most important.
Magic Device isn't really necessary for this build. You can do 50 Weaponmastery instead of 50 Barehand, although warriors with their extra weapon specializations are better for weapon fighting. Tulkas may add power to weapon attacks.
I like to go 50 Combat, 50 Barehand, 50 Mindcraft, 50 Prayer, 50 Magic. Spirituality is good for extra points too. 50 Weaponmastery instead of 50 Barehand is also feasible.
Healing can be done either through the mindcraft ability or the helm of hammerhand, replenish mana by draining enemies. Look for +Wisdom, +Constitution items with a Paladin.
Try to get to 30 Barehand (4 hits, +3 speed), 30 Mindcraft (all the spells, targeted void jumpgates), 20 Prayer (every hit is *GREAT*, as soon as possible - powerleveling on dragons is the quickest way.
Try to carry potions of Restore Mana, Healing, *Healing*, Morphic oil of Wolf, Heroism, and scrolls of Holy Chant, etc.
endgame:
If you use a void jumpgate while a monster is on the other side you swap positions, used with stone prison and the anchor this can be helpful to trap opponents like Sauron.
teleport away and drain weaker enemies like trolls to max out hp/mana faster than resting, this will prevent uniques from healing back up if you have to retreat temporarily.
monsters can't summon onto void jumpgates, you can create a ring of them and fight strong enemies in the center.
if there are a lot of strong enemies try to kill the ones that can tunnel and use stone prison to block the others. telekinesis can knock them away to give you more room to do this.
mindcraft and barehand can knock out many monsters which can be very useful.
1200-1400 hp by endgame is usually what I end up with, it depends on class/race.
