amaurea: I don't like the WikiName thing used here. I prefer [some_name label]. According to the help this should be supported, but I can't seem to get it to work. I don't like having to divide my name into two parts and add capitalization either. Wery nice otherwise, though. Do additions to the spellchecker show up anywhere? Otherwise I'm afraid that people may end up adding misspellings of words to it, which wouldn't be easy to detect. I have made a small page about Deathwatch. Please improve it, and add some for other levels.

KjellHeskestad: If you want to link to a word not in WikiCase, use (for example) ["amaurea"], which yields amaurea. Hm, I'm later informed that the UserPreferences require a WikiName. I don't know if it is possible to get around that requirement.

NeilStevens: What I suggest you do is pick some CamelCase name for your account by capitalizing some letter in the middle or by tacking on a word, but name your homepage with your preferred account name to sign your posts. We can make your account name an alias to your preferred name if MoinMoin has that feature (and I'd be surprised if it didn't).

MayLith: Hey all. I'm with amaurea in that I'd rather use my net name unmodified, but I can live with it. I could use my RL name, I suppose, but as a moderator back on the forum I'd rather that people be able to recognize who I am. I look forward to seeing this site grow. Thanks, Neil! (And thanks for the DitL forum.)

DarkGod: I do agree with Maylith and amaurea on this one...

NeilStevens: So do I, so I welcome patches to MoinMoin!

KjellHeskestad: It's a simple fix to disable checking for user names in WikiCase when ACLs are enabled. Comment out lines 194 and 195 (if not re.match etc...) in userform.py (in python's site-packages directory). I tested it locally, and it seems to work.

NeilStevens: Are you sure this won't break anything anywhere else, like on RecentChanges?

KjellHeskestad: I didn't manage to break anything. I tested ACLs with both WikiCase and all lowercase names, and it works fine, as far as I can tell. But to make sure, I posted a question about it on MoinMoinQuestions.

NeilStevens: I'll watch that for an answer, thanks. Heh heh heh.. reading that page, it looks like Moin Moin is developed in GNU Arch (at least, I saw what looked like a GNU Arch version on there), which would make it VERY easy for me to make and maintain safely any local changes.

TeBer: i don't like that capitalized B either. anyways, i should be recognizable now to the ToME community.

MayLith: I'm not overly wild about the capitalized L, either. But, glad to see you here.

NeilStevens: Well, feel free to make your home page be Maylith or Teber, sign your messages that way, and turn MayLith and TeBer into aliases to those pages. If we ever get a reply on MoinMoinQuestions you'll be able to re-register under those names anyway.

MayLith: Yay!
