Introduction
Well, dear reader, maybe you remember the first official ToME competition DarkGod devised in his infinite evilness, that being a Yeek Hermit Warrioress. While I tried, I was not as well developed player back then and quickly got annoyed by suicidal tendencies of poor Turdy. Yet, years rolled on, my ToME skills grew and by the time 2.3.1 came around I have already tried a few Yeek Hermit Warrioresses, just for the sake of completeness, though failed miserably with all of them, just like in the competition. Then, I had a streak of more and more challenging games crowned with Vheezarad the Risen, artifactless yeek warrior (though a Morgoth worshipper - a gamewinner for a warrior like no other). It filled me with confidence to start this - a Manwe worshipping artifactless Ironman Yeek Hermit Warrioress named Turdy.
It failed too.
It wasn't as miserable failure though. Turdy didn't die. I just gave up on her.
However, recently I was looking through things while bored and I found out that I still have her save.
So I loaded it and it turns out she's not as hopeless as I thought.
Now I can enjoy some not-really-mindless hacking and, maybe, achieve a victory over forces of evil. Yeeeeek!
BREAKING NEWS My first staff of wish EVER! An Eru-sent gift for this poor gal (well, lad at the moment). First charge down for PDSM of Immunity, but what to do with the other two? Discharge them immediately? Wait, counting on the staff not breaking (there's a an awful lot of nice things to get on the level). Upgrade defense (Adamantite Rod of the Istari of Healing would be most useful and I have the Healing part already) or offense (thinking about Vampiric Shadow Blade of Extra Attacks - should've positive pval and I can use the last wish for Craftsmanship)? So many questions, so many... I'm taking a break, too excited to do anything not silly right now.
The Win:
After some amazing luck with staves of wish, my equipment became one of the strongest kits I've ever seen, mainly due to weapon and armor. Very strong backing from magical devices and spells helped too and from there, rest of the game was quite straightforward. I learned some new tricks though, like: targeted earthquakes are good for imprisoning unwanted monsters from quite afar (Mt. Doom is much nicer when you can keep Sauron in the middle room before destroying the One and fighting him after). Another thing: many passive damage buffs at once do wonders!
Now, I need to find another staff of wish or two to round out equipment before I decide to void dive.
